Who Made This Course & Why Should I Trust Them?
My name is Ginger Kern and after living outside of the U.S. for nearly 4 years and traveling to 27 countries around the world, I would LOVE to share my best travel expertise with you.
When I was growing up in Wisconsin, I barely traveled. Outside of three short international trips (planned by my parents), I had no overseas travel experience…
But those short trips got me hooked. I wanted to travel as often as possible, and what’s more, I didn’t just want to be a tourist. I wanted to create a life in Europe.
Like you, I didn’t win the lottery or have a trust fund. I had to figure out how to get money for travel. I saved money and found ways through grants, scholarships, and work abroad to make my travel dreams come true.
But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I got on the roller-coaster of travel, and rode all of the ups and downs along the way…
Uncertainty, fear, homesickness, and the occasional bout of food poisoning… Of the most challenging things I faced, I wanted to share them with you so that you don’t have to face them unprepared.
I want to help you make your travel dreams come true. I created the Travel Savvy eCourse so that you can know the answers to all the questions making you feel uneasy about traveling abroad…
What if I don’t speak the language?
What if I get mugged?
What if I don’t know how to get around that new city?
How can I possibly travel alone?!
I’ve shared about my travel experiences in a TEDx talk, in talks and workshops at universities, and on 12+ top travel blogs and podcasts like The Daily Travel Podcast, Go Abroad, Spotted By Locals, the As Told By Nomads Podcast and more.

from my years of experience, so that you have
way more FUN and way less stress on your adventure.
What People Are Saying About the Travel Savvy eCourse
I once thought Google could tell me everything I’d need to know about travel, but I was delightfully wrong.
Before I met Ginger, I did not know anyone as passionate about inspiring others to travel quite like her. Since I’ve taken the Travel Savvy eCourse, I’ve been reminded that I can never know too much or be too prepared.
Many “aha” moments happened during the course, such as how to explain food allergies to a chef in a foreign country, and how to get from point A to point B without speaking the language of your destination. You can bet that practical scenarios are mixed into all six modules and Ginger offers realistic solutions to the most worrisome challenges of being new at the game of travel. Now I’m off to Beijing, China and I’m so glad I took the course. I would recommend that every traveler from the anxious to the fearless should get their hands on the Travel Savvy eCourse!
-Ariam Frezghi, Washington, D.C
I took my first trip overseas in 1984. Since then, I’ve been to 10 countries and lived in 2. But obviously, the world has changed since the 80s. I found the Travel Savvy eCourse extremely valuable in providing current info and getting me up-to-date!
The biggest struggle I had was dealing with how differently things like public transportation and social interactions work in other countries, and what’s “normal” or “expected” in other cultures. The Travel Savvy eCourse shows you how to do all of this with confidence and courtesy! I feel so confident in dealing with bartering and foreign money, too. Really glad I took this course!

How is this course structured?
This course is module based. You’ll get access to all 6 modules (30 videos total) all at once. This course is meant to be easy to follow, so if you’re the kind of person who likes to devour Netflix series, you can watch all of these videos in one go. If not, you always have access to the videos through the course link, so you can go slowly and refer back to them anytime.
What if I get really confused?
I’m here to help. You can email me as often you as you need to and I’ll help troubleshoot your problems. I want you to be confident in traveling the world, not confused.
I don’t have any traveling experience. Is this course for me?
The Travel Savvy eCourse is for people with no experience traveling, or with little experience traveling abroad (usually to “easy” touristy destinations like Cancun or the Caribbean). It takes you through all the steps of planning, preparing, enjoying, and reintegrating from international travel so that you’re confident you can plan and execute a trip on your own.
I’ve never heard of you. How do I know the lessons are actually useful and good quality?
From growing up in Wisconsin, to now having traveled to 27 countries (many of them 5+ times) and having lived overseas for more than 4 years (learning German, French, and a fair bit of Italian along the way), I created this course out of a sincere desire to help millions of Americans travel overseas.
Each module is full of tips and resources from my actual experience out in the world, exploring and making mistakes, combined with the knowledge and experience of my global community of travel bloggers, expats, and travel industry professionals.
I already have some travel experience. Is this course for me?
Even those with some experience will benefit from the expert tips, strategies to cope when things go wrong, and resources to get free or extremely affordable travel abroad opportunities.
